Photo Scrapbook

This page is a collection of some of my favorite photos which I have taken throughout my travels, some of which I am rather proud of, and a few other, interesting photos. All the photos on this page are copyright © 1986, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, or 1995.

I call this one Montreal in Winter.
I try to take scenescapes a lot. I’m particularly fond of this one, taken from the top of Sulphur Mountain, in Banff, Alberta.
A couple of mountain goats lazing around on Sulphur Mountain.
The CN tower, in Toronto, Ontario.
Rainy River, Ontario; I spotted this old plow, and just had to take a picture.
Old steam locomotive in Rainy River, Ontario.
A job had me spending a good deal of time on railroad bridges. Here I was taking a break over the Mighty Muddy Mississippi. I have long since cut cigarettes from my diet, but I like the photo.
Walking down from Sulphur Mountain, we came across some elk grazing along the side of the road. I had to do the touristy thing and take a picture. It’s pretty amazing how close you can actually get to the wildlife in Banff without upsetting them.
The Smoky River near Grande Cache Alberta. A view from the top of a cliff.
My first car (circa 1986): a “colorado green” 1978 Honda Civic. 1280cc, 4 speed manual. I had replaced the dashboard with one from a 1500 CVCC, because that one had a tachometer. This car died of cancer.
You can’t truly appreciate the size of Canada and everything it has to offer unless you’ve driven across the country. I have done so numerous times.
I got caught starting a fire!
Rainy River, Ontario. This old caboose just sits in a field, apparently abandoned.
My second car (circa 1991):
Also my first new car. A 2.2 litre 1991 Plymouth Sundance, 5 speed manual. I later added the sunroof from the civic. This car served me well into 2004, at which time it was just time to send it to pasture. At the time this picture was taken, the odometer read 17.1 km! The lovely lady in my arms is my grandma.
While we were travelling around, we often had to stop along the highway while construction crews did their work. This was taken in BC on tour with The Watchmen.
I always thought that Toronto’s city hall makes a nice picture. This isn’t quite a postcard, but it is my own.
The Little Hell Gate Bridge in New York City. The arch is the main span of this massive railroad bridge. The entire bridge is some 4 miles long. Running alongside the Triborough Bridge, it joins The Bronx and Queens.
