Music on Linux Related Websites



These are not entirely random links, and broader descriptions will be added here as I find time. For now, they're mostly links to sites I expect will be of interest to me in my quest for creating music with free, preferably open-source software, and older (some might say "vintage") hardware synthesizers.

There's no particular order at this point. The idea is to get the links documented, then as I get a better handle on which are most useful for what aspects of the process, they'll be re-organized and re-grouped. If others find these links useful, that's a Good Thing ™

The Freesound Project
The Freesound Project is a collaborative database of Creative Commons licensed sounds.

ccMixter: community music
ccMixter is a community music site featuring remixes licensed under Creative Commons where you can listen to, sample, mash-up, or interact with music in whatever way you want.

Some PZM-microphone related links, in particular, information for modifying them to use real phantom power. These are noted here for my own benefit, as I own a couple of these that have been so modified, but they work just fine as they are.
